IDIA Strategic Collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the International Development Innovation Alliance (IDIA) today signed a strategic Collaborative Agreement to jointly advance innovation for development.

The newly launched OECD Innovation for Development Facility (INDEF) will be the main interlocutor for this collaboration with IDIA. Together, the two entities will work on promoting and facilitating investments in innovation for development. For the first year, the collaboration will focus on will focus on deepening the awareness of the purpose and roles of innovation in international development, strengthening engagement among DAC members and exploring ways to collectively support innovation ecosystems in low and middle-income countries..

The OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) has the unique role to set standards and guide international development co-operation. The newly expanded work stream on innovation provides members of the DAC with support to better manage innovation efforts and to enhance the collaboration with innovators from the Global South. Given IDIA’s unique experience and status as the leading collaboration platform for innovation funders around the world, joining forces will accelerate and deepen our collective impact in addressing some of the most urgent development challenges of our time.
